Does sand work as grit please help!

Hello and Welcome To BYC! The coarser sand which has small pebbles in it, sometimes called builders sand etc, will work, the washed fine white powdery sand sometimes called something like play sand probably won't.

Yes, it does. Especially if it is natural sand. BUT...don't use sand in the brooder until you are sure they know WHAT to eat as they can eat sand only and starve to death. Good luck!
