Well daughter brought home 4 ducklings, fine with me , but I have never had ducks. 3 seem to be doing good but poor little wobbles I just don;t know if I am doing right by him/her. I think they are campbell khaki ducks. Anyhow I have chickens too and from this site know you all just don't bail out on a un perfect animal and so I read what you have said to do for others. I am feeding chick starter but I got brewers yeast to supplement it and they all get mealworms as treats. I have also started giving wobbles his own swim time which he seems to do well with except sometimes when swimming his one leg seems to get hyper extended sort of straight back so that it goes straight out onto his side and back. He/she usually squirms about in the water and the leg comes back to place but when he is out walking it makes it really hard for him to balance and the other three just sort of push him out of the way when it comes to eating time. So I have taken to trying to feed him first but he wants company so I put one duck in with him ...sometimes that works, but I am worried cause the other one seems to eat then drink and wobbles doesn't always do that most likely cause its hard to move around when he eats some, loves his mealworms and swimming but Iam REALLY worried and would REALLY appreciate any help from you all. Thanks. I really have appreciated all the help this site has given me.

You are really doing well for a first time duck person!

He probably does need extra supplementation. And you do need to watch - if he is not getting enough time at the feeder and waterer, you may want to make him is own little space in the brooder, separated by temporary plastic poultry fence so he can see and be right next to the others but won't get shoved around till he's found his balance.

His own space means his own water and food but I am sure you realize this.

Bath time is good, definitely. How's his pooping?

Have you seen this?

Thanks so much for your help. He seems to be pooping okay compared to the other three, I think. I will try separating him like you said. What other supplements do you know of to give him? I won't give up on him as long as he is trying so will I.

Again, thanks.

Sav-a-chick is a product some folks use, there is also a poultry vitamin-electrolyte-probiotic mix I have used from time to time during stressful events or as a pick-me-up for a puny duck.

Some try a little apple cider vinegar (unpasteurized, with the mother) in water - like, a teaspoon vinegar per quart of water.

Thank you...again. I really do try research things out before I jump into it but the ducklings came home rather quickly. My daughter fell in love on a trip to tractor supply store. I really do appreciate your help. I will get to the store asap for the supplements. For now I do have apple cider I can try.
