Alright chicks do better if there is more then one and if you do not have a light on them you really need several so they keep each other warm .....

So sorry about the loss .....

Put a towel or blanket over the cage at night .......

Give Fudge a little stuffed animal to cuddle with. If she is lonely during the day, you can put a little mirror in with her so she thinks there is another chicken. If the cage seems big with just one, maybe you can put in a small box turned upside down(so it has a top) and make an opening so she can get inside. Sometimes they like a dark, quiet place to cuddle with their toy.

I'm so sorry you lost Feather - some babies have a failure to thrive and really nothing can change that. I raised puppies when I was much younger and I used to lose some now and then and it made me very upset. I'd give myself time to grieve over them, and then try again.

Yes, always have 3+ chicks together!

Birds of a feather flock together.

It seems you do not know as much about chickens as you should. Some suggested chicken reading:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/...ks-the-first-60-days-of-raising-baby-chickens

And I strongly suggest that you purchase "The Chicken Whispers Guide to Keeping Chickens" You can find it online or in some bookstores.... I am pretty sure its at Tractor Supply.

Also, lurking around the forums, and reading random chicken stuff really helps.
