I am incubating some chicks 2 of them hatched out this morning I left them in the incubator until they were dry and from there I put them in the brooder. They were in the brooder for maybe a half hour. I went back to check on them and they were dead. Am I doing something wrong here? This is my first time doing this. I have another one pipping now so I don't want to do something wrong.
and Welcome To BYC! Sorry about your chicks. What is your brooder set up like, what is the temperature in it? You want a warm spot around 95* for them but there should be cooler spots and it should not be covered/closed since it can overheat really fast. What sort of light / heat source are you using, be careful you are not using a teflon coated shatter proof light bulb. You are sure nothing could get in the brooder and harm them? You might want to post in the Emergencies section also for ideas
