I have 24 chickens that I'm planning on rehomeing since Im way to stressed out with the new school year coming and needing to get all my credits to graduate, family problems, and not having the suitable space for them like I use I have.... I'm emotionally attached to these little guys and I want to give them to good homes... The roosters are seriously the kindest nicest Roos ever but they have a gamy appearance to them so I feel they'll be used for cock fighting and I don't support that!! I have hens from 3 years that will come up to me fly to me when called and I'm just to emotionally attached everytime I try and put the craigslist ad I can't do it... Can anyone help me

Go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum, to locate and post on your state thread. Post about the chickens you need to rehome. There may be other chicken people near you that can help you out.

I would be careful with Craig's list, since you can't investigate anyone who replies to your ad. They may think they can sell them or use them in other ways that wouldn't be what you desire.

Lots of people on here raise game birds so the rooster appearance would put them off. Are your hens still laying? If so that is a good point in their favor. Some new people don't want to start out with chicks.

I'm guessing you are going away to college. If so, some allow pets in the dorms or pens outside. Maybe you would have the opportunity to keep a couple favorites with you.
