HELP!!!!!

Can anyone tell me why one of my 4 chickens ate one of 4 eggs that were laid please and thank you.

Sometimes eggs get broken and they often eat the contents. If it is a onetime event, it may not be a problem. Keeping fake eggs in the nests and collecting real eggs often can help. Once a hen finds out how tasty an egg is, they soon become an egg eater and often teach the others to do so. Sometimes they can't be broken from the habit and have to be culled.

OMG that sounds dreadfull....so l have to kill the baddie chicken....but lve 4 rhode island reds and they all look the same...how do l know which one is the culprit???

You have to keep an eye on them and catch them in the act.

Don't miss what he sald about one time thing . Also some calcium--may help . At least have some available . esp. if your not feeding laying pellets. Also bordom can come in to play - caged in small cages and alike. good luck !
