The green is bruising when hemaglobin breaks down into biliverdin. It's fairly normal with any trauma to tissues. You probably should stop the peroxide now, since it can damage the tissue. It doesn't hurt just using it once, but try just applying the antibiotic ointment. If it needs cleaning any further, you can get some normal saline or make your own. The recipe is 1 tsp of salt per quart of water, or a small quantity is 1/4 tsp salt per 8 ounces of water. To make it sterile, it has to be boiled for 25 minutes.
