the colour of these eggs are light brown and i have changed the batteries, all the windows are shut

oops! when the egg cracked i put candle wax on it, i was worried because i didn't know if the chick was alive so i did the float test.what happens if i put the egg in the water?

If you have already put it in water, let's hope the wax sealed it up good. If you haven't done it yet... I wouldn't. The water could seep in and drown the chick.

My sister in law accidentally dropped an egg while transferring from the turner on lockdown day. The egg she dropped didn't get hurt, but the one it landed on got a huge crack and a bulls-eye type smash spot. She left it alone for lockdown and it hatched! Chick ended up perfectly fine. We were pleasantly surprised!

4 still going but i don't know about the cracked one
they are due on saturday

when the chicks do hatch how long do they need to be in the bator for?

Most people leave them in the incubator until they are dry and fluffy. Or until all have hatched. And usually its best not to remove the first ones till the others are done if you have any open pips, even if they are dry and fluffy. Pipped ones can dry out if you open it up and the humidity drops. They can make it 3 days without food or water, if you have to wait on others.
