My chickens got out of their pen and my worst fear just happened. Someon was speeding through and hit my buff orpington, who I love dearly. She's still alive, but her breath sounds are a little crunchy and her face has some bruising on it. Other than that, I can't see much else wrong. I have her inside under a heat lamp and she is head down in the towel. Is there anything I can give her to help with pain? What can I do for her at this time of night?

This site mentions aspirin 324 mg per gallon:

I hope she can recover, oh I am so sorry that she is in pain. (Keep in mind aspirin makes bleeding happen more easily so if you think she is bleeding internally that would be bad to give aspirin I would think.)

That's a good point. Was going to run to the store for it, but maybe not. I gave her Rescue Remedy and I have metacam I could try.

I gave Buffy a drop of Rescue Remedy, put some lavendar essential oil on her feet and made an essential oil pain relief mix. She's up and walking. I think she may not see out of one eye, but time will tell. Just trying to get her to make it through the night!

So seriously. Not one person can offer any guidance? Maybe I Ned to look elsewhere for advice. Seems more people want to go off topic rather than try to help me help my chicken. Very disappointed.
