I know nothing about the breed, duck, but why would there be a difference between them and any other chicken when incubating/hatching?

Duck, I hatched some last year with decent results. I incubated them like regular eggs. The one thing I have heard is that the color on the eggs effects the water transfer from the embryos to the outside air. I was told to scratch some of the color off with fine sandpaper to help the transfer process. I did not do this. I was afraid that it would hurt the eggs. I have 11 in the bator now that I got from the egg swap thread. The best I can tell is that they are doing good. It is really hard to see in the egg because they are so dark but I can see dark spots in the eggs where the embryo should be. We will see how good the hatch rate is.

I've been losing many too! I will pray they fond out what's going on. I have yet to find any good eggs today BC my computer is being silly. I'm using my phone at the moment.

Bright spot in the day. The ducklings went outside today and played in the mud. I absolutely love the way if you get out of their sight for 2 seconds, they panic and start frantically running around looking for you. So cute.
