Quick question-this little White Call baby that's hatching is a bit of a puzzle for me.
When I candled it yesterday, I could see red inside the shell and what looked almost like a blood ring on the outside of the shell. Baby is still alive, but I can't figure out where the blood is coming from???? I'm really afraid to help much for fear of bleeding him out-any ideas??

Maybe he tore a vessle somewhere? In time bleeding will stop hopefully I don't know what else to do except wait... I'm sorry wish I could help more

I just don't want to do anything to hurt this babies chances. We've had such bad luck with ducks and ducklings lately that I really want this baby to hatch.

Ady, they dang well better call me today or I'm calling A&M directly and telling them that while this may mean nothing to them, it's got my business absolutely stymied! This is so nerve wracking!
Duck-there is NO way that Pyncheon chick is a pullet. I have hatched out about 25 of them and have gotten FOUR pullets. True story.
Oh, and duck, STOP looking at ebay. There, I helped.
