Well, Sonja-looks like we're in the same boat, now. I just candled my Butters and I'm down to 3 as well.

I just hope they all hatch!
My 2 eggs from The Queen, 1 egg from Mrs. Piglet and 1 from Damsel look like they're doing OK for now. I just pray that they hatch so that a little piece of my girls can live on.
We should know next week what to do about our birds-A&M should have gotten the pathology yesterday and we will hopefully have the info Monday or Tuesday. I just feel helpless, right now.

On a lighter note-I have extra Self-Black and Pencil eggs. Those ladies have been laying just beautifully so I THINK I may post an auction next week for some of my eggs.

My Snowies haven't laid yet and my Blue Fawn Pied has only laid once since she got here...

This is Mrs. Pencil. These little birds have the cutest personalities. Very chatty little things. Her fertility looks GREAT! Candled them as well this morning. Can't wait for baby Pencils!

1 hour and 50 mins.... Boy there's competition. She put the duckling picture up for a reason!
Thanks east I hope I win!
Sonja and east I hope your butters hatch easily! I have my fingers crossed for you guys. I'm so nervous for Wednesday.... I stop turning and go to lockdown on Sunday afternoon.
I woke up this morning at 430 and the power was off!! I freaked out and ran to the bator with my phone and saw it was still sitting at 99... And it came back on shortly after that. I almost cried! Lol
Sonja good luck tomorrow!!!
East you have such pretty babies!

Question about silkies justme... Or anyone! I've looked around to see how long it takes after you move a bird to start laying again BC my adult silkie hasn't laid an egg since I got her. Its been 7 days today. I've seen the rooster breeding both the girls but no eggs? I know I'm going to walk out there and bam there will be an egg but I just wanted to know your alls experience!
Oh and I walked outside last night to let my dogs out before bed... MASSIVE owl on my roof

Don't give up on the Call eggs-they're nice little birds. Stupid owl...I hate predators!
Keeping my fingers crossed for your Butter hatch!

Any bird can stop laying when they are moved. It might take a month or so for her to start back up again. Was she laying before you got her?

The bears are just a nusiance most of the time. Typically they aren't aggressive and don't usually kill their food, they prefer to scavenge and eat garbage. This time of the year is the worst because they are just waking up and they are HUNGRY. They are unpredicatable. I worry about them getting to my birds

If they birds were free ranging the bears wouldn't bother to chase them but if they break into the coop the birds don't stand much of a chance. Of course the threat from foxes, etc is worse so the birds need to stay locked up this time of year.

This wasn't just a garbage can. After we had the bear in the garage after the garbase last year I got a dumpster that is about 300 feet from the house down by the road. It's just a little dumpster but still I have no clue how I am going to get this thing back up

I'm not giving up... I want those babies! I paid 35 for 6 butters so... Lol
Justme thanks I knew it could take awhile I was just hopeful! She was laying when I bought her. Had an egg in her cage from that morning.
My drake killed two chicks... So he's on the pond on his own. He was so sweet I'm shocked but I'm not. I knew I was taking a change but... Ugh
