Sonja what about a pygmy goat? they are small. Or a nigerian dwarf....
Justme zeus is doing better he is still laying around but he is acting more normal. I hope this goat isn't to much for me. I have it in the big center part of the new chicken pen DH is finishing up. She will have plenty of room and then during the day i can put her out on a tie so she can graze for fresh grass.

Oh man earlier i went to check on my duckies bc i didn't hear them peeping... and one of them was CHOKING!!!

I started freaking out and dipping his beak and rubbing his throat. I tried forever to get him to get it down. I thought oh god he is going to die!!! and then just when i was going to give up it went down. He is just fine now... i guess he just wanted to scare me! So i took a rolling pin and smashed food smaller. And then added a little water.

Well, thank heavens that's over. I actually had a fantastic time.
Everyone was well behaved, nice and helpful so it wasn't bad.
We have a wildfire about 20 miles north of us and the ash was covering everything.

Sure hope they get it under control soon. It is SOOO dry and crunchy here.

Sonja, I'm going to check my Butters today- I didn't even get a chance to candle them yesterday.
Duck, Sorry you had a rough time with the chicks. Kids around my ducks and stuff makes me nervous, too.

I highly doubt the Aussie Spotted egg will make it!

East I already checked my butters today and I had one quitter so I am down to two eggs also. One of them has already pipped internally so I am going to be keeping a very close eye on them. There is still a lot of yolk so I am going to leave it be for now. I also candled my FBCM. I was sent 11 eggs and I have 5 that will make it to lockdown tomorrow. I am going to get the call duck pen ready today and put them outside. They are getting too big for their brooder and I can't keep their brooder clean enough so it is time for me to cut the apron stings lol. I bought them a pool the other day which is actually a large feed pan from TSC. Besides I will need their brooder for the new babies. I just hope they both hatch. Otherwise It will be all alone until next weekend. I have some SA eggs going into lockdown on the 23rd. Maybe if I only have one I can put it in with the chicks or maybe put one chick in with it

I just bid on some chocolate call duck eggs on ebay. I want them soooo bad. They are gorgeous.

On a different note, the babies LOVE their new pen. We got their pool burried and they had the water filthy before the pool was even full lol. Torpedo did her thing...she torpedoed. Now I have to ask. I think she is a blue fawn. When I took her outside I noticed the center of her feather are blueish and laced with brown. Am I correct? Her bill is dark horn colored and her legs are yellow. I took pics but I'm still waiting for a cord for my computer. I cant download them to hubbies because it locks up. Darn it.
