Hey everyone! Sorry i've been so distant just trying to get a bunch of stuff done since the kids are gone! lol And we are just hanging out. We may go fishing today or down to houston! Dont know yet. I called the person last night for those ducklings and no answer. I'm going to call today too. East i hope you ducky is just taking a long break. It looks like its going to rain here but it never rains so i'm not going to hold my breath! Last night we were working on the chicken pen and i got poison ivy all over the back of my legs. I swear i was standing clear of it but i guess not.

it itches something bad!
I should get my white call eggs today or tomorrow! I still only have 2 of the 8 white ones i got before developing. And only 9 of the 14 mixed call eggs sonja and i got are still goign but those look pretty good so far. I am loving this genisis. I move some quail eggs into the hatcher on friday.

e And my butter babies are getting so big so fast. I'm goign to let them play in the kitchen sink today with some shallow water. sorry to babble just had to get it all out!

I am miffed. I heard a comotion this morning and there were two of my neighbors dogs in my back yard killing one of my GLP hens. I ran out the door after them and they took off to the back corner of our fence and crawled under it. She was the only chicken out since I have them all cooped up treating for cocci but my guineas and ducks are still out in the yard. I went to the owners house and knocked but no one answered. My daughter informed methey went to Texas about 2 weeks ago and they are not back yet. She also informed me that the dogs will kill cats too. Two of my neighbors have indoor/outdoor cats. I went to FIL and got a gun from him. I sold all of mine right after I quit the PD thinking I'd never need them again. If I see them in my yard again......backyard with chickens or unfenced side yard, they will not be leaving my yard. When the owners get back I will tell them what happened and asked to be compensated for my hen.

sonja i'm sorry about you hen and i dont blame you for doing what your doing! I have an owl that just waits for my birds and as much as i like owls you better believe i see it i'm shooting it... sorry but that sucker has had about 10 of my birds... i'm not feeding it ANYMORE!!! 4 of my GP hens are gone bc of that owl!!! Dogs make me even more mad because they dont even eat the birds they just kill them to kill them! And i would hope that they would compensate you for your hen!

Has anyone incubated any Khaki duck eggs? I have 3 in the bator right now. 1 internally pipped sometime around 30 hours ago...the duck is still moving in the egg and peeping..should I help start the external pip stage?

Thanks! They are not due until the 28th anyways. It's just very nerve-racking (as I'm sure you know) not know what is going on inside that egg.

Good evening everyone!

I moved the geese to a new pen and moved the ducklings and the gosling to where the geese were and I need to build more pens soon! I'm gonna be overrun with chicks and ducklings soon!
