Don't feel bad-this year has been a massive fail hatchwise all around, pretty much.
I have a GQF cabinet incubator AND a Humidaire redwood hatcher...still not working so an LG is as good as anything else right now.

Ady, I expect my silkies to go broody every 3 months to 4 months depending on how long they mother the chicks for. They seem to only lay for 3 or 4 weeks in between broods.

I have been using my LG as a hatcher and it is holding its temp just fine this year. I did duct tape all around the viewing windows and made a lip out of duct take all around the outside and it seems to be helping.

Do you have any duckie pictures???

OK, I must have seriously wild ducklings. All 3 groups-including the Fisher Price Little People trio are PIGS and I mean messy, nasty, wet, stinky, food mohawk...the whole nine yards!

Their paper towels are still dry after more than 24 hours and they just have a regular little chick waterer in there. It's not normal. I am a little worried they aren't eating enough.

But everyone else's ducklings have halos...mine have webbed feet, a pitchfork and pointy tails.

Wow, that is unusual, justme. Mine wake us up in the middle of the night wanting water or food.
As long as they seem healthy, though, I wouldn't worry too much.
