OK, I think I will stick with plan A and make one out of aluminum.
I stumbled on a box of self tapping screws in the shop I can use, I think. they do have the rubber washer for steel roofs.

I will experiment with them before I go up onto the roof.

I checked online. Menard's does have a clear poly ridge cap. it is only 10 feet long.
I need eleven feet.

Isn't that always the way? I went to builders discount today and they were out of 2x4x8 pressure treated lumber! Really annoying. So i got them at Lowes and found the panels on sale. I looked at them last week and they were regular price. Perfect timing!

I would suggest that you go to the store to check out the difference between the metal and plastic panels.
HD has the metal ones too but they are not the old thick kind I remember. They are just as thin as the plastic ones. That is why I will get plastic so I don't have to deal with rust :(

I really don't like plastic but i wanted 2 for the center of the roof for my hoop coop because i will not be having power or windows in this build. The metal roof panels i buy are nice and thick, so i really like them.

Day 2 hoop coop build, i painted my wood and pounded in the rest of my posts! Going to start attaching fencing.
