Coming down to the end on the triple brooder build. Just need to finish dividers and screw the top on. 20180503_132326.jpg
So excited about going to the Gilmanor swap in Glen Allen Va tomorrow. Going to see if i can sell this brooder and make myself another.

you should have no trouble selling that brooder.
I have told my wife several times that if I had to live my life over, instead of doing remodeling and home building, I would have made chicken coops and cages. and playhouses.. etc..
I also would like to be a mentor to a young kid who is really interested in carpentry. such a person is hard to find.
I will die with a lot of knowledge going with me.. Not that I am so smart, but I could give someone enough knowledge to build on..
I have an open invitation to visit my nephew who is the shop instructor at one of the local high schools. I could give demonstrations of tool sharpening and such things..
He worked for me starting at 14 years old until he graduated from high school and then the voc tech college. he later went on to become an architect.. now he can teach me things..

You should do this!
Why are you not?
Sounds like the perfect circle,
you taught your nephew,
who is now teaching,
and has invited you to teach too.
Wonder if they could do a field trip to your shop?

OH NO !!! Not to MY shop ... LOL
as it is now, only about room for two people in it..
I am really thinking of going to his class room, though.
I could do like one project a month or so.

I got a stretch from the door all the way to the drill press cleaned and even swept the floor. only about 4 ft wide and 8 feet long, the longest journey begins with the first step..
I have a 5 gallon pail half full of screw drivers.. I should be selling tools on craig's list ..

for now I am not sorting any tools. plenty of time for things like that after I get some real projects underway and finished..

a friend of mine has a 3 year old German Shepherd. last week it suddenly went blind
don't know why ??

well, I made it past the drill press and all the way to the work bench. Now we are talking a real mess.. at least it is at waist high level and not on the floor..
I am wondering if I can use a 1/2HP motor out of one of the garage door openers to turn the lathe ??
going to check that out on utube..
I found a better bucket than the 5 gal plastic ones. Annie picks them up for me from the supermarket.
they are square plastic about 3 gallon.
the lids snap on 4 sides like those little freezer containers . they really keep the water out if left outside in the rain.

well , I checked. the answer is no. the motors are rated for occasional use. they have no way to cool themselves off with continuous running.
however a motor from a tread mill will work
but I have no idea of how to wire one up .
I would have to eliminate a circuit board.
I guess I will steal a motor from a furnace fan I have somewhere around here..
I am thinking of taking the bench grinder out of the shop and putting it into the new shed I built. I might make a dedicated tool sharpening station out of it..
there is no electric in the new shed.
looks like I just created another project,
doesn't it ??..

I really need to build a shelf under the work bench in my shop. Too many power tools, not enough space. My next project is a cage to house one bunny. I have pieces cut and painted for the frame.
I go get my sutures out in Lynchburg tomorrow so that makes it another shopping day.
