Helpful hints for building coops

I thought I had to keep working till I reached 66 to get my full social security benefits. Turns out I could quit working at any time and just not apply for benefits till I hit 66 and still qualify for full benefits.

So we are now the proud owners of 1/3 of an acre and 1/2 of a house!

So tell me if this is just me. I know I only a 37 weeks of working left and now everything that was kinda annoying before is driving me totally crazy! Nothing has changed, no one is any more idiotic than they were before, it's just all suddenly much harder to put up with.

Yup, and the bosses actually planned ahead and my replacement starts on the 28th. He starts his training rotation with me. Bought a lottery ticket, winning would put rockets on my heels. Smart folks my bosses.

Today we started clearing the basement. A veteran's charity will be coming by this Friday to pick up all the useful stuff that we have stacked in the driveway, and there is a lot of stuff. DP will be ordering a dumpster to take the junk that no one in their right minds would want.

One of the neighbors stopped to ask if we were having a yard sale, I told her no but if she saw anything on the stack she wanted to just help herself. She said the neighborhood would miss us. We've always had an interesting yard, heavily planted some years, then more of a sparse look. Bird feeders, or squirrels, or hummingbirds. We've always liked an evolving. We decorate for holidays and give full sized candy bars at Halloween

Hubby has the first side of the goat pasture fenced. I am getting started raking the leaves off so i can plant some ground cover.

good day,
around here at a few boat landings, there are pails where one can put in unwanted fish, the raptor people pick them up daily.
the basement is drying out nicely.
the carpet in my computer room is still wet. we run the carpet cleaner over it a little each day to suck out as much water as possible. eventually it will dry.
we have fans and a dehumidifier
running 24/7.
still about a foot of snow on the fields.
the snow banks have shrunk to about half their original heights.
today the robins have arrived by the flock.
there is one who is flying up and down against the sunporch windows. he has been at it for about a half hour.. Probably a male fighting with his reflection..
