Here January is colder than December. My site is gonna be under a bunch of tall trees to a. Keep the coop and most of the run in the shade and b. To keep predatory birds from seeing them flying by. And what is a good gage wire cloth to go with to keep them safe and is it worth the extra money to pony up for the pvc coated

IIRC, most people use 19 gauge hardware cloth.

The coated is a matter of preference and aesthetics.

Not necessarily.

It might or might not increase the odds of them getting along, but there is always the chance that one day they'll try to kill each other.
Well i can't afford to lose one or the other to fighting, especially the ayam cemani. I have to buy atleast 3 to place an order and well thats pretty expensive 🙃. And the only reason I'm considering the pvc coated is longevity

When I buy or hatch chicks I always buy more than I intend to keep. I pick the ones I like best and sell the others -- though selling males is hit-or-miss. Sometimes I just have to eat them.

I didn't wanna spend that much money on chickens so that's why I only got 3. It was the bare minimum and gave me really gud odds at getting a male and female so I could breed my own and get a small flock cheaper. Just the 3 cost me over 200 I think. Never in the world thought I'd spend that on a chicken just to look at 🤣😂

I was kicking around the idea of having one wall or 2 opposing walls that would be hinged so I could open up to allow air flow and when it gets cold close them shut
I have windows on one side of my coop that have hardware cloth instead of glass. There are plywood shutters on hinges that can be opened or hooked closed. Let me see if i can find that picture.

Here it is, the center shutter is open. You can see the other 2 shutters are closed, just above the nest boxes. This is a duplex coop, and each side has its own run. I built it myself.
