Wondered about the goat shed.

Got supplies to fix the pop door rope..again.
Knew the first one wouldn't last, but expected it to go longer.
Better now than in the middle of winter.

My pop doors have clothes lines made of cable and plastic coating. They should last pretty well.
What do you use for 'pulleys'?
This time I just uses crappy old rope, knew it wouldn't last.
First out used new rope and eye screws for pulley, lasted 4 years.
Got new rope and an actual pulley.

I bought a metal pulley. The small ones are easy to find, we had to order online to get the big pulleys for the clothes line and they were plastic. But they work so far.

Today i had to go to town to see the specialist so i did some other shopping as well. I looked at the transparent panels for sale at Lowes and Home Depot. They just seem so flimsy compared to what they used to make. I really prefer the metal but i think it would be quite dark in there if i don't use some clear panels or tarps on top. Maybe two clear panels in the center and then metal on either side.
I picked up some hog rings and pliers today, even the clerk at TSC had no idea where to look. I also got a nice big pumpkin for $3.99 on clearance there.
And i scored a metal clad exterior door with windows in it at the Restore. Needs a paint job but should work. I got more free pallets at Harbor Freight and another free tarp.

this is the end view of the window sill I made. I outlined it with a black felt tip pen.
before my wife dragged me away, I did manage to get the sill notched and set in place.
I have about a gallon of white paint, so I think I will paint all the window frame pieces on all sides before I install them.

misting here all day. now it is more like rain.

Sounds like our crappy weather. If its going to rain, just do it and get it over with already! We have had about 5 days of drizzle and gloom. That's it, i am ordering sunshine for tomorrow!

Have you considered using some tinted film? Not sure how well it would hold up or cost, but might be an option.
Yeah, but i hate to keep redoing things. Once i build something i want to have as little maintenance as possible. And i hate using plastic if i can avoid it. Tarps are bad enough.
Less rebuilding is why i like to paint all wooden surfaces.
