That is part of the fun of building, changing plans as you go. Can you share pictures, Jim?good evening,
I am beat.
I worked fast and furious to beat the rain.
I got another wall all framed up. I will add siding to it tomorrow if weather permits.
I changed my plans. I framed two windows into this short wall horizontally instead of vertically . I think it will let in more light and it does look better ..

Rule of twos....
Make it twice as big as you think you need, walk in....
Put in twice the amount of ventilation you think you need.
It will cost twice as much as you planned.
It will take twice as long to build as you thought it would.
If this is your first flock build coop first, then get chicks.
Since you built it bigger build in a in coop brooder/chicken jail.

Called her Gorgeous the Magnificent, Maggie for short. She had a great temperament, was fairly well trained when I got her at 3yo. and was pretty obedient. She was sensitive and comforting, would know I was going to cry before I did and would come over and lay her big old head in my lap. She's been gone now for about a decade.Interesting, i have never seen markings like that. How is her temperament? Chows can be nasty, bout lost my hand to one whose nails i was trimming.
Might want to round off the corners of that metal so it's less likely to catch and stick in track if it's get off kilter.Pictures of pop door construction:View attachment 1139480View attachment 1139482View attachment 1139484
Remember, you don't have to bury an apron much, if at all.Oh, husband just remembered my hardware cloth arrived today for the skirt around my run. After i put the siding on that side, i will have 50 feet of trenches to dig! Oh joy.
Broodies are mostly hard to break of wanting to sit, so you could probably move her without any problem. In pen brooder chicken jail ?
I'm new to chickens my hen has been hiding her eggs... I found her cluch a cupple days ago... She had 20 eggs under her !!! Wow ! I just... Got 2 young roos... So I know there not FERTILIZED.. so I replaced them with a dozen FERTILIZED ones... She is on top ! Of a very tall hay stack ! I want to move her to a safer place but don't want to upset her so much she stops wanting to sit ( brood ? ) On her eggs .
I have a huge coop iv built and I have a supper big dog kennel I could use by to put her in... If I did would she be to stressed out ??? With all the noise of the coop ?
I prefer to bury it because i don't like looking at it. Bad enough seeing all that chain link. I only go down maybe 4-5 inches. Gets me a little work out. I lost 4 pounds since starting this project.Called her Gorgeous the Magnificent, Maggie for short. She had a great temperament, was fairly well trained when I got her at 3yo. and was pretty obedient.
