Helpful hints for building coops

We walked over by the river today and saw this...

what kind of footprints are those ? I am guessing wolf ?

I just got a call at 8:30 AM.
the people are just leaving to come get Spot.
they should get here about 11:30 AM..

Annie finally broke the news to Randy that Spot is leaving.. He took the news well..
He realizes that Spot needs a job. poor dog is so bored here..
he rounds up any stray socks and shoes and piles them up. then he lays watch over them.
He doesn't chew any of them up..

I let the 3 little girls out of the coop yesterday.
Spot was there to help me. He loves those little girls. he plays with them and is so gentle

I am going to miss him.. but we can't keep every dog that is born here..

GS Kalib came home after a 16 hour shift. I caught him before he went to bed and had him install my wireless printer..
I watched him do it.. let me tell you..there is no way I could have figured it out..for sure..

I have to take one of the girls to the vet for her check up for her flight to Florida.
she is leaving on March 5..

Who is Randy?
Would be hard to move pups on, probably bittersweet.

She's all set with 5 fresh fertile eggs from my long coveted BCM x CCL cross.

Pretty sure those are raccoon prints. No wolves in VA, except maybe a zoo?

Ooh, i forgot to tell you i scored today, got concrete blocks for $1 each, 3'x4' pieces of 3/4 inch plywood for $2 each! So new garden beds and plywood for my hay loft. Lots of other great deals, including a snow sled for $3.

Art, Randy is our resident person in our adult family home. we are licensed for two people, but we only want one at a time,,
he has been with us for a year. He came here in a wheel chair and was on diabetic insulin four time a day..
now he walks with a cane over a mile at the YMCA three times a week and as of tonight, he no longer has to have insulin shots..

Spot went to his new home at noon today.
I think he is going to be living in luxury ..
his new owners are a very young couple.
no children, yet.. just lots of pets..

That will be a great situation for Spot i think.
I am disappointed my Mom doesn't get more exercise where she lives. She used to walk every day. Now she has to use a walker. I need to call her tomorrow.

rough sledding today.
it rained just at dusk last night, then it turned to snow.
today even the main roads are treacherous.
Kalib got stuck coming into our driveway. his girl friend was right behind him and Annie was behind her. it looked like a convoy ..
I got bundled up and took the tractor and dug everybody loose. then I did a half-a55ed job of plowing and came back into the house.
we have 4+ inches of new snow..

Where Spot went, they have two horses.
they had a coyote on their deck with a couple more on the lawn..
those coyotes are going to be surprised when the new "horse" barks and chases them over the fence..

We've had wind all day yesterday then power out about 4am,
restoration was announced for tomorrow by 11pm.
Was just about to call buddy around noon for freezer storage and water,
when power came back on.
Been sighing gratitude all day.

Went out to reset coop light timer and found the the 6th BCMxCCL cross egg,
broody had gotten up and eaten on her own, so gave her egg.

I spent the best part of the day cleaning the coop and spraying the inside and the birds. Also put a board on the nest box over the crack where the two pieces of plywood join because it was leaking. Put it on a hinge so it will stay in place. Considering replacing some of the perches with peeled branches. I was in a hurry when i installed them.
