I wonder if you have to peel the branches ?
I have a large pine tree where the guineas have taken over.. the bark is pretty well peeled off..and I didn't do it..

I like to peel the branches so mites have less places to hide. I cleaned that whole coop today, sprayed inside and out, plus treated the birds.
 
I am so close to finishing my quail hutch, but the paint is taking forever to dry in this humidity!

What's the temp there?......warmer will dry/cure much faster.
Our temperature varies a lot. I ran the heater in the workshop last night and the paint finally dried. So here are the latest pictures.

a rabbit transport cage i finished today. Cost $3. and scrap wood.

You can see the upstairs dust bath and ramp for them to climb up. It also features the egg collector on the front.

I like it! You did a good job. You can either add vents available at home improvement stores, or drill holes , cut slots and then cover them with hardware cloth so critters stay out.
