I agree. Chalk a line end to end. Locate the first stud & mark the rest. Assuming their 16", 24" or 36" O/C. Rip the ledger at the angle of the pitch & install.

Then set & run your outside verticle post wild (long) & cut to size at the angle set by the ledger. All other angled cuts will be at this predetermined pitch.

Fellas, if anybody knows about studs,
it's Cappy..
I assume the building is framed out like a pole building..
I made it to G Bay and picked up my new/used lathe. it is just what I had expected.. old Craftsman tools never let me down..
drove half way home in a snow storm.
lathe is still in the car. we got 6" of snow
as long as we can drive in and out of the property, I am not going to plow. it will all melt soon enough..

BTW, Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate it..

Going out for breadfast . Just Annie and me

I know this pist is old, but Just thought I would say something. One of the most import things you will ever learn is how to make sure your new building is square. You can google it, I imagine there are plenty of videos that shows how to use string and the 3, 4 , 5 method (Pythagorean theory) to square your building.

Yes, Jim, They used great big vertical lumber and ran 2x4s horizontal like a pole building. Said they would have it built in no time. HA! Biggest joke ever! They are still not done! They started Oct. 21st i think. I can hardly remember, its been so long!
Yes, Happy Easter!
