good morning after the storms.
we had a couple of doozies slide through here last night.
we were on the edge of the first one. just got some rain with no wind.
then after midnight the big one came through.
Frankie pushed our bedroom door open and laid down by the bed. I couldn't get her to leave, no way, no how..
she can hear thunder ten minutes before we can..I don't think she is really scared of thunder, she just figured out that we baby her if she acts scared..LOL
most of the apples are still on the tree. If I want a pie I had better go get some before it is too late..
Cappy, take a picture of the metal contraption. it might be something that might be useful to you..

Only a bit of it is above ground, which is why i want to drag it out of there.

is there enough of it showing to tell what it is?

we live close to the river. just a couple hundred feet down the road is the bridge. the water is over the road and the house on that corner has a lake for a lawn..
we have seen this happen several times since we moved here in 1968..

No, but then i an not up on metal equipment. I don't think its too old or the chain would be more rusted.

I put together the frame for another quail duplex tonight. I really want to work on the roof of the coop tomorrow.
My California Valley quail are young and a bit flighty, but i am hoping they will get used to me. Picked them up from the breeder today. 20180906_185318.jpg

yesterday we went to Annie's 55th HS reunion picnic. brats and burgers on the grill.
I am glad I wore jeans and a long sleeved shirt.
It never got up to 70F. was about 65F at sundown
tonight phase 2 will be held indoors with a sit down meal. I am still going to wear my alpaca sweater that Annie knit for me. I hardly ever get to wear it..
yesterday I took Ollie and extended the new row for the grapes by about 12 feet. it is still wet, but at least I am ripping the sod up.. in a few days it will be drier, then I can break up the clumps, even if I have to drive on them with the tires first..
hope your roofing job goes well. and try not to fall again.

because it is too nice of a sweater to wear where it would get dirty or damaged.. I have junk sweaters for everyday use.. the alpaca wool alone cost around $200.oo..
a similar sweater in a catalog (Annie used the same pattern) was priced at $700.oo..
