I didn't know there was a carving contest, not that I would have entered..
congrats on second place. that is just as good as first place, considering that it is just someone's opinion what is best..
I have a vacuum leak in the line. so the scooter starts hard. yesterday I went shopping for some tighter tubing clamps. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but I did find two good candidates. I bought one of each for comparison..
another cold day here,
the deer hunters (bro and sons) have not bagged anything , yet.. they tend to be a bit too selective, IMHO..
all 3 of his sons are high school teachers so it was back to work for mon, tue and wed....

ETA: I braved the cold and got the scooter started. fixed the vacuum leak , was just a loose tubing.
got the scooter to start without using starting fluid and spent some time fiddling with the carburetor.. I have it to where I want it now. starts right up and idles right off the bat. now I have to let the motor get cold to see if it will start that good when it is cold.
my tractor is frozen . there is moisture in the transmission and it is frozen. can't shift it. will have to put an electric heater under a tarp to warm it up.. this happens every winter.. luckily there is no snow to push around , yet..

happy thanksgiving tomorrow.
we are eating at Wanda's restaurant.
the usual crowd that come here are invited to come along, otherwise they can cook for themselves..
I had my annual VA check up today. I must be good to go because they made another appointment for Nov 17 of next year..
Annie has been limping around for many weeks. pain in her knee. had a shot about two weeks ago. didn't help any. now they decided the problem is in her back. IDK what they are going to try next..
they=bone and joint clinic..
Art, looks like you better put on another pair of long johns.

Hot flashes keep me warm.
Apologies, but...who is Annie?

Had a good meal and didn't over eat. I called Mom and wished her Happy Thanksgiving. I am working on a new brooder, got the frame assembled and cut the plywood for the back. These chicks are growing fast!

I got a big load of egg cartons for a dozen eggs today! And i bought 4 brand new metal barrels for $15 each. I bought the fabric for my nieces wedding quilt, over $100! And that fabric was all on sale 40-70% off.

Today i got the back screwed on the double brooder i am building, and cut the plywood for the end.
This pain is really making me depressed. I may not be on here for a while.

Cappy, I hope the pain and cause of it are soon taken care of..
Annie is having pain at her knee and they don't seem to know what is causing it. she really hobbles when she walks.. the shot she had did nothing to help..
on Sat. my youngest daughter came out and I taught her how to make my dinner rolls. I helped her with the first batch, and then I had her make the second batch all on her own.. both batches came out just great.
she was a fast learner..
Her boyfriend loves my dinner rolls and he insisted that she learn how to make them..
I got the recipe long ago from a restaurant that no longer exists.. I was surprised they gave it to me..
the saga of the scooter is still going on.
it will not start now that the temperatures have gotten cold..
I think I will take the carb off again and see what I can do to it.. It is not the best carb you can get for this scooter.. I might buy a new one.. they cost only about $20.oo..
