I'm so not looking forward to snow. I'm from NY State, where the plows pretty much run 24/7. Down here, I can still see the road through the snow, and they call off school. I hope it stays away.
Welcome to the thread!. I used to live in Western TN. Now enjoying VA.

snow is like death, you know it is coming, just don't know when..
we got a scant one inch last night. not expecting much more for a few days..
I am so glad I don't have to take my mower off.. I did once, and I vowed to never do that again..
I use my Oliver 55 (Ollie) with a 7 ft bucket and a back blade for pushing snow around..
not going to bother with this one inch, though..
Cappy, hope your appt goes your way today..
Annie is going in tomorrow for therapy evaluation for her knee..
I had my VA check up Monday. the Dr offered to refer me for hip replacements.
I have to ponder that one for awhile..
........jiminwisc.....
My Dad had pretty good results with 2 out of 3 of his hip replacements. Mil needs hip replacements but isn't having them done because last time they sedated her, her heart stopped.

I was very disappointed with that Ortho appointment. No MRI ordered. No pain pills prescribed. The issue of my high blood pressure due to pain has not been resolved, or even addressed. Guess i need to go back to my regular doctor again.
The guy had more xrays ordered. Said i don't need surgery. Prescribed steroids but they were not called in when i got to the pharmacy hours later. Ordered PT. Said i likely have a pinched nerve.

almost 1AM. I fell asleep during the football game. woke up at midnight. can't sleep.
I hope I don't fall asleep during the funeral service at noon..
Cappy, sorry the appointment went sour .
sounds like the Dr has made up his mind and that's that.. He sounds more like a football coach,, "suck it up, baby" ...

After sucking up the pain for 2 weeks, my body has had enough. My BP is out of control high. Sitting in the Drs office...

I went to the ER today, they finally wrote me an Rx for pain pills. Like 10 of them. Not going to last until my ortho appointment on Thursday. Sigh.
THey are being more careful now.

While this wont help quickly, in the long run I have had good luck with a low carb diet, and an elimination diet. THe pain and swelling in my knuckles is gone.
Meditation can be as good as pain meds, with a little practice.

Praying for a swift recovery.

I can ignore a fair amount of pain but a pinched nerve, never. I actually passed out once when a person drawing blood hit a nerve. I can't believe meditation could get rid of that acute pain.

Very late to the party but I had to post and thank all of you for this marvelous thread.

I'm retiring in one year (just turned 65) and my SO and I will be selling our house in Portland Oregon and moving to a currently undisclosed piece of land in the southern coastal area. There we'll plop a manufactured home and I'll get to build a coop for a half dozen chickens. Never built anything that big before and was doubting I could but all the great tips and suggestions posted here give me faith I can do it.

Thanks all!

Welcome to BYC. It is a great place to learn and make friends. Feel free to post your progress here once you get going on your coop. And remember, we love pictures!
