I love how a good big dog knows to be gentle when playing with a smaller dog. We used to raise pet rats (dumbos mostly) and the big males always knew to be gentle in play with the just weaned little males. They'd let the babies "win" their wrestling games.

That coop is coming along nicely, you must be pleased.

And I love the bonus dog picture!:wee
Wherever I am, the dog is, unless I drive somewhere.
Yes, I can hardly wait to finish that coop and get started on the next project! It looks like it may rain this afternoon, so the only thing I could work on is a feeder, as long as the power is on.

It did rain, but after a while I went out and cut a hole in the coop , then installed the pop door. Which in this case is a small window.

I cut boards for the soffits and painted them.

I got behind with reading my emails.
I was getting a good start on making the frame for the AC when the table saw motor took a dump. took it to the fixit shop. they tested it all out. and it ran good for them.
brought it home, put it on the saw, made one 3" cutoff and it quit again.
I have no time to mess with it so I just went and bought a new 1HP 3450RPM
motor. expensive, but I have to get that AC in so Annie will be happy.
Happy wife, happy life..
where did you pick up the shipping crate
there was a trucking terminal in Wausau that sold shipping crates for cheap. they were 4ft x 4ft x 8ft. IDK if they still do that or not. The owner was a coffee drinking associate of mine, but he died last year. IDK if the place is still open or not..
Rats give me the willies ..

I got the packing crates on Facebook Marketplace.

Today I got the boards up for the soffits and tacked the hardware cloth on. Installed one perch, and put up a piece of plywood across the bottom of the doorway so the chickens don't run out when I open the door. Next comes the run.

Two weeks of work left, the new place should be ready for the final inspection some time next week. Hold up on the permitting for the shed but will be sorted out within a couple more weeks. I hope. There's a photographer coming to take pictures of the current house to post for the sale on Monday. So close...
