looks like a nice coop, .
Yes, I am relieved to have the tractor out.
but a better word might be amazed that it came out so easily..
now I have some nice deep ruts to fill in.
maybe I can space the grape vines so that at least one of them ends up on a deep rut and I won't have to hand dig a hole.just fill in the rut with compost...

Nice job, looks brand new! Are you taking any precautions since it's a used coop?
Yes, I am painting all surfaces inside and out. After I scrape all debris out of the floor, I will paint that. After it dries, I will spray for bugs. Then I have vinyl flooring to put on it. I will put trim boards all the way around the perimeter of the floor. Most viruses and bacteria don't live long on surfaces. I think by painting everything it will be encased in latex.

Is the roof water tight?
The nest door doesn't appear to be...plans for that?
I haven't decided yet if I am using this as a grow out coop or a broody coop. If I need nestboxes, I will add them outside the coop.
Yes, the roof is tight. It poured yesterday and last night and it is dry inside.

I have complete faith in you Cappy, the coop will be 100% perfect when you are finished.

the new shut off switch is working on the battery. in retrospect I don't think I needed it, but I use it and it gives me great peace of mind.
Now I have a new problem. the transmission won't go into 3rd, 4th,5th or 6th gear. I can shift from high range to low range and can hit forward and reverse in each. those are the gears I mostly use anyhow .
I mowed some grass today; only the area that was in the shade.

Seems like there is always some problem with machines for you Jim. Good thing you have experience fixing things!

I don't talk about the multitude of good things that happen, I guess. so it seems like I am always having problems.. you know, if a person never did anything, nothing would go wrong.
I never told you about the 11 Cost Cutters hair styling stores I built, or the 8 houses I built, or the two barns I built.. all went well

Years ago hubby and I had a chain of pet stores, and we did everything except the flooring and electrical when we opened new stores in malls. Built bird rooms, fish tank stands, puppy pens etc. We enjoyed working together.
