vast improvement.
what are you going to fill it with ?
yesterday I started working on the window well. this is the one where all the water collected this spring and flooded the basement.
I am going to raise the metal well, and then pour concrete all around it. If this does not fix the problem, I will take the window out and concrete the opening shut.
basement windows are mostly useless. they let in only a little light during the daylight hours, and none during the night. No matter what, you still have to turn on the lights.
If you leave them open for the minimal ventilation, then critters come in. the screens disintegrated years ago..

They finally got the slab for the shed/garage poured today so tuff shed should be sending their inspector out to approve it. Then they'll start the build. The skirting will be started tomorrow and once that is done they'll start on the fence along the front of the property.

I placed my first request for a chip drop today, I feel so grown-up! I requested chips rather than logs and chips but they asked if I would accept a few logs, and since we do want a few logs for edging and assorted decorating, I said that would be fine. My question is, did I just agree to a do it myself log cabin? I know a few of you have had chip drops, did you agree to "a few" logs?

I use chip drop. I've gotten 2 loads in 2 years. I don't get logs. Maybe if i did I'd get more loads.:idunno

when I got chips, there were never any logs.
Asplundh is the chipper around here.
today I dug the window well and got one bag of premix concrete poured. I have to pick up some more bags of redicrete. I have one more bag in the garage, but IDK how good it is. the first bag had hardened chunks in it. I mixed extra long and the chunks finally broke down. OK for the sub strate, but not good for the top finish layer.
