Today I bought sccratch grains to give my chickens. Do I mix them in with her normal feed or serve them seperately?

Separately. Just give them a little bit. They’ll love them!

You can mix it, but they will probably pick it out because it's like CANDY!
I've had great weather, so I throw it in the grass and give them something to do. When they see me coming down with a pail of "crack" in the afternoon, they pull up their skirts and run toward me!

Failure to put on weight usually more than simply not eating enough when bird has free-choice access to feed. Infection could hinder appetite. Increasing dietary protein is likely a good idea assuming there is no palatability issue.

Feel the chicken's crop after it first goes to the roost to asses crop fill. Then indicate what you observe.
