OK, I have sent some eggs to a friend's home from here on BYC...
SOme are silkie eggs, and I remember some one here said that silkies have to be helped out of their shells.
So, at what day after day 21-22, and what signs should one look for, and HOW can they be helped?
Should we look for a pip? or just do a small crack after day 22 or there abouts...?
Any info would be helpful.

They shouldn't need any help, unless they've been pipped for 24 hours and haven't made progress. My Silkies don't have any harder of a time hatching than any of my other breeds.

Normally they come out just fine. Every one I've helped out ended up dying in the end. I believe in the saying, "If they're not strong enough to get out of the shell, they're not strong enough to survive." It's hard not to help, but I've spent a lot of time and heartache trying to save them later and that's worse. Good luck!

I have hatched several silkie eggs without helping them, you could make matters worst by doing that. Just leave them they will crack and get out by themselve's. Mine has always managed..
