My brooder WAS covered with shavings. Then the 3 week olds decided they didn't want it and tossed it all over the garage floor. Which gets tracked in the house.

That's what I have too.. The OH crap adapter as my husband says... Works for a multitude of things especially in hurricane season..

This happened to me last Sunday for four hours...I wrapped the gator in a heavy blanket and put it in the bathroom where it was the warmest...managed to keep the temps up past 90F but the humidity went through the roof...good luck and my thrust are with you all in CA...
