Hi I'm heather from Indiana, I hatched one goose egg... Haha that's my first experience ... Anyhow I ordered 6 eggs from Metzer's... Do we count their eth (expected time of hatching) from the day they were layed or the day we put them in the incubator? Based on candling I would suggest they have about a week left ... Just needed some insight on this ... We have lost two already one not fertile and one ended up being a bloody ring :(

! Pleased you joined us! I think the count starts from time in the incubator. Good luck to you and happy hatching! Here's the incubating & hatching thread if you have questions. Have fun!

You count them from when you put them in the incubator. Day 1 is the first 24 hours, day 2 the next etc. Chicken eggs take approx 21 days from start to hatch, duck eggs (depending on breed) 28-30 days etc. Good luck with your hatch!

Well I hatched my goose egg with your guys help!!! Wouldn't have known squat without this sight! It's amazing!!! One comment I read while "researching" was .... "Hatching is addict ing" how true those words are!!!

I'm on day 20... When should I stop turning them... I've kept water in the bottom since day one... Haven't sprayed them just have an auto turner ...

Well it's day 22 and I've officially stopped turning them... Humidity is up as high as the LG incubators are made for... I candled all 4 tonight and they are all fairly big ... So much that I could only see slight movement!!! Fingerscrosssssed!!!!
