Hemmie passed away this morning

Typical Diva;)
She is. She also is such a typical little one. Doesn't want to come inside when it's dark, doesn't think she's tired or hungry until she's you put food or her bedding in front of her. She's a total little diva.

That is so precious :love Getting over the loss of their one an only love takes time. Downy needed time. They are very special 💞

I think Downey and I both did. I'm still sad, and sad for him. But Jackie was having trouble making friends with the wild ducks, and Downey was lonely. It also helps that he just had his end of summer molt, it's 29 degrees outside, and I think his "equipment" is stored for winter. 😂

Hemmie, my little girl Australian Spotted, died quietly this morning, apparently in her sleep. She never showed any signs of distress or discomfort, never slowed in eating or playing or pooping. Her little lower tummy was still hard after she passed, and it looked like she had an internal prolapse. I'm hoping that Downey, the drake, will be okay and will make friends with the little wood duck female now. I'm really heartbroken, though.
:hugs
