hemorrhoids??????

I'm new to raising chickens. I have 8, 20 week old New Hampshire and Rhode Island Reds. A hen layed her first egg and it was soft shelled. She now looks like she has hemorrhoids from her vent. She is acting completely normal and everything but I want to know if there is anything I need to do?

It could be prolapse. I don't know anymore than that, but maybe someone else will.

We had a chick that had prolapse when she pooped. We put a lil hemorrhoid ointment on a q-tip and gently pushed it in, as the other chicks wanted to peck it. She hasn't laid yet, so

that she'll be OK. Is she getting enough calcium? Also, maybe post a pic under injuries thread (of her vent)? Maybe you'll get more answers. Good luck ~ Kim
