Hemp seed in feed?

You can get hemp seeds at most health food stores. Lots of times they are roasted or ground.

(you wont be able to plant them and grow anything hah)

*Chook gets everything together in her green dog bowl twice a day if it's over 8O degrees and 3 times if it's cooler. Hempseed makes up somewhat less than 2 cups per 2O lb. snack mix, usually, unless she seems a bit bony. Then, I might add an extra teaspoon to her bowl for a bit, where normally she only gets and 1/8 cup snack morning and evening. I've been doing that the past couple of days, in fact. Doesn't take long at all for them bulk up on it, though, and you can literally notice some "porking up" in just a couple days, so I'm careful, usually judging it by her thigh size and breastbone sharpness when I'm carrying her in at night. Guess I ought to get a scale for her!

Thank you.

I just planted some hemp seeds I got from a guy in a "hemp" shop (aka smoke shop, with a few clothes made out of hemp) in Lake Tahoe. I have no idea if they were sprayed to keep them from sprouting but I guess I'll find out. I thought it might be fun to have a few hemp plants in the garden for novelty purposes, as long as the feds don't come after me. Jerks!

I have a package of hemp seeds that are a few weeks over the date.. they smell and taste fine so I gave them to my chickens.. they love it! Seems like a healthy treat!
