I have a hen that in the last couple of weeks has started acting like a rooster. She is 2 years old and lays eggs. Recently when I let them out to free-range she started squawking like a rooster whenever she found food, she has never done this before and was always the greediest hen. This has been going on for a couple of weeks and now she has her own flock of three hens and the rooster is only left with one. I don't know if she is still laying but she was recently broody. Does anyone know why she is acting like this? I included a picture of the hen.

She didn't hatch any chicks, is it possible she thinks she did?
Did you break her right away or egg failed or....?
Would love to see video of her talking to 'her girls'.
It could be she is brooding the 'other girls'...never heard of it tho.
Are all birds the same age?
How is the cock/erel acting towards her?

I just left her in her box. One of the hens is a year younger than her and the others are older than her. The rooster doesn't seem to care. I'll try and get a video soon.
