I am wondering if this is normal behavior or if I just have the best hen ever (just kidding). Every morning we let her out of the coop around 6 am, she stays out until about 7:30, then lays her egg, comes to our sliding door pecks the glass and squawks until we get the egg. Then we thank her and she stops the noise. We just noticed the pattern last week, but she is totally consistent. The kids and I love it. Is that a typical thing hens do?
