Hen always alone

Thanks. I do have a rooster, hes also a bantam but he runs around trying to impress the bigger girls. She will sometimes go to him but hes a bit rough when she does so she ends up walking away again. Thinking shes getting bullied at night when they go back to coop which is why she doesn't want to be round them during day when they range. 🙁
My smallest pekin has the same problem. She’s always last in on a night and is alone in the day. I’ve bought numerous smaller pekins to be her friend but they emigrate further away fr her and more towards the main group. I’ve come to the conclusion that she just must want to be alone.

Thanks! I was actually thinking about getting some smaller hens for her but maybe not if it wont solve anything. Thanks for reply

I have a loner hen too. Shes a Bantam. She's mean to other chickens no matter the size or breed. But she is an AMAZING mommy. She lives on her own or with her chicks if she has babies. When they're free ranging she sometimes goes to say hi,she submits to my Bantam roo if shes in the mood but she prefers her own space.

Not to worry. I have an Orpington that likes to be off on her own. She sleeps in the large coop many nights alone, while the others sleep in the doghouse, we converted. She often forages on her own too. The Cochin I have will hang out with her sometimes but that is her choice because the Cochin is at the bottow of the pecking order and the Orpington won't bother her. I used to have a Black Star that used to go off on her own too. Do you have a Rooster? If you don't that explains alot. Without a Rooster to keep them together they can tend to be more independent.
We have 7 red hens and a rooster. One hen always goes of on her own. Never sticks with the group. I wonder why. All the others happy out with the rooster..
