hen and chicks

This hen in the pic, had 4 chicks. Now only 1.
Question is , if a hen loses her chicks, how long till she starts laying agan? And or setting?

Give her a few weeks to lay, I've heard it can be two months. As to going broody, who knows? It could be after she lays a few more eggs or it may never happen.

It can take up to two months after hatching out chicks for a hen to start laying again. If she just has one chick and lost the rest, she might keep it longer than she would have originally because it's her only one left.
