Hi there everyone! I am hoping you can help. Our Auracana managed to get her head stuck under a fence, pinned to the ground, and by the time we found her the fire ants had stung her practically to death all over her head. Now her eyes are swollen shut.

We have isolated her and am making sure she will drink a bit,,,but what else can i possibly do? She looks like she is suffering quite a bit.

Thanks for your help everyone!!

She's probably in a lot of pain, so you could give her baby aspirin. Look up dosage. You need to separate her from the others, in a comfortable area (since she probably can't see very well). Try to offer her yummy foods, like eggs, yogurt, mealworms, etc. Also, dip her beak in water and see if she's interested in drinking. Since you don't know how long she was trapped, she probably is dehydrated and hungry. Just wait for the swelling to go down, and she'll probably be just fine.

i realize now, five years later, how rude it was for me to not reply with an update! She was fine after a few days of isolation and electrolytes !
