Poor thing. My baby goose suffered a similar fate by a rat. He was missing his whole beak and only had a tongue. I put him down because although he was alert and active he had one leg chewed off and I didn't think he would have a quality of life at all if it was just the beak or just the leg I would have attempted to save him as you did. I hope your little hen makes a recovery and figures out how to eat on her own!
