Hen backing up in nest box. Is she ill? Urgent!

Hello all.

Our hen Ophelia was having some crop problems about a month ago, but we cured her and she seemed OK. Now she is backing up in the nest box with her head down. Once out of the nest box she seemed fine. My dad is the one who actually observed this, he said it looked like she was blind or something. We're really worried about Ophelia and were going to bring her to a class in a few minutes. Is she OK and should we bring another chicken? Since we need to leave in a few minutes quick replies would be very much appreciated!

If she is out of sorts I would certainly bring another chicken. You wouldn't want to be taken out if you were not feeling good right?

Thank you for your quick reply. My Dad says that maybe she thought he was a predator or something. She's fine now, so I'm not sure what's up!

I remember Ophelia, what a sweetie. I wonder if she may be going broody and your dad (human roo!) startled her. Just keep an eye on her, I know you babied her! I hope everything is all right.
