Anyone ever use the Hen Boost or Chick Boost from Animal Health Solutions Inc.? Its suppose to be a blend probiotics, vitamins, and electrolytes. I haven't seen any reviews on-line nor have I heard many people mention them. Thank you...

This is my first time raising a mixed flock of ducks and chickens, but the feed store had all of their chicks and ducklings on the Chick Boost probiotic so I bought a bag of it when I took our girls home. I was a little worried because the package didn't mention it was meant for all types of poultry but my ducks seemed to do just as well as the chickens!

I tapered off how much I was using as they got older just in case it wasn't good for ducks and switched over to a product from a different company that gets mixed in with the food instead because it specifically mentioned it was for all poultry (rooster booster I think?)

I really liked the probiotic but ducks are little water savages, and I started to feel like I was throwing my money away because those adorable bullies muddy up the waterers within minutes of cleaning and refilling them. I have a bunch of water stations all around their area, but even the ones I strategically placed up and what I assumed was out of the ducks reach would eventually be discovered and muddied up! Haha.

Last week one of my chickens started laying (YAY!!) so I bought the hen boost probiotic and will give it a try, but I might want to invest in either a drip or nipple type of waterer to outsmart my ducks. Man ducks are lucky they are so cute, or they might not be worth the mess and effort!

Probiotics are universal, pretty much any creature can benefit from them, even reptiles. Only thing you might have to watch is the vitamins, I don't know if the requirements for ducks & chickens differ.

The package of Hen Boost Probiotics doesn't state how long you can give it to the chickens. It has directions as to how much per gallon you should use and comes with a scoop. But my question is....Do I give this to the chickens everyday when I change their water or do I give it to them once a wk? I give the chickens ACV twice a wk. Also do I give probiotics and vinegar at the same time or does that basically "cancel" the benefits of both if put in their water together?

It’s really good stuff. I have been using it still, but I haven’t been giving it to my hens. Only the Chick Boost for the chicks when I bring them home, every day for the first several weeks to give them an extra boost of good stuff to help them along. One scoop mixed with water per one of those small plastic containers full. It does leave an orangey residue on the containers, just fyi. It’s cleanable though. I’m not sure how long it can be given , as far as long term goes though.

Was this ever answered from 2019? Curious cause I just bought some today

I use the Rooster Booster powder from TSC. It doesn't have vitamin C or the digestive enzymes, but it does have all the B vitamins and a wider range of probiotic types in it. It's $10 for an 8 ounce container so pretty cost effective. I use it for all new chicks (hatched or shipped), whenever a bird isn't feeling well, and when the weather is really hot.
