Hi, so my golden sebright has been breathing heavily since yesterday, I looked it up and massaged her crop thinking it was impacted and she was doing a little better after, but this morning and all day shes been breathing heavily again. Shes a little pale, but she had regained some color and lost it again today. Shes picking and drinking, but seems to sit on the perch a little more than usual with her feathers poofed and breathing hard.
I dont feel much of a crop even tho I've seen her pick at stuff, I just checked. I'm bringing her in the house now, one of the other hens rushed by her and she was off balance from it, but shed been moving fine and alert before. I've got a probiotic mix, and vitamins with electrolytes. I'm giving her the electrolyte water now.
None of the other chickens are showing signs of whatever this is, theres 7 of them including this one; two roosters. She doesnt feel lighter, shes about 4 months old. Her poop looked fine when I saw it earlier, will update if it changes, if I can help her myself thatd be amazing, pandemic has hit hard. I put vitamins in the waterer for her last night and put out a snack treat to entice her to eat.
Any advice would be appreciated, shes a sweet hen, her name is Aladdin.
Edit: as soon as she was separated she ate a small amount, and shes currently acclimating to the crate. I think her poop looks okay. But I'm gonna throw a pic in just in case. Her crop is a bit fuller so she mustve ate something while I was prepping the cage for her.
Bedding in the coop house is the grounds coffee ground bedding with deep litter, and the other chickens seem to be fine with it, floor of the coop is just the earth, I'm getting a larger kennel system fixed up that I can remove, just gotta get the cover set, but right now theres just a small extension to the coop to allow them fresh grass and greenery. Shes eating a little bit between watching me, and I've got the feeder split between feed and oyster shell, as I ran out of grit today and the store has been out, just in case it is impaction or she hasnt been eating enough grit.
She is inquisitive and looking around.
