So we rescued a hen a few days ago and I'm curious to know any input on her breed. I'm not familiar with all the breeds so I'd love some help figuring out what this large girl is. She is paler in color and larger than the Rhode Islands we have had. She's currently in quarantine and doing well.

(Note on her feathers - did examine and see no sign of parasites, but ends of feathers appeared frayed? However she is molting and missing feathers on back - unsure if she was attacked or if it was a roo)

Full body pics please.

@Chicalina - The photos/shade of her isolation pen make her look darker - she's got a reddish brown to her - not bright like RIR but she's not solid brown either. My initial thought was Orpington cross by her body shape?

Oh I see, red not brown! Yeah I definitely see Orpington in her shape. Perhaps some RSL in there for the red then?

@Chicalina - In looking at photos of RSL yes it sort of looks like that too! Thank you for all your help.

(But breed guesses was just curiosity - it doesn't matter what she is - we're happy to have her and just hope she has a good life here with us)
:love
