I helped a chick out of most of it's shell, thinking it was having problems. I think a hen pecked a hole in the shell and the chick wasn't trying to hatch. No I didn't write the date the hen started setting on them there are two, one day apart. The other egg isn't trying to hatch (I didn't candle it so don't know if it's viable) Anyway we put the chick and the shell where the yolk is in a plastic mouse house on some damp paper towels under a heat lamp. The humidity is relatively high, the temp. 100. She has absorbed most of the yolk, today it's about the size of a pencil eraser. She looks to be 2-3 days premature I am guessing. Is there anything I can do for her to give her the best chance possible?

Let her be, but get her to eat and drink as soon as you see that yolk go down more - like tomorrow.

Dampened chick crumbles are easier for them to eat the first time.
