Since this morning and I can push it closed but that’s it

No it’s not hot and I haven’t seen her drink but I have seen her swallow

try mixing a little bit of feed with a lot of water to make it soupy and see if she will drink/eat that.

Do you know when the last time she laid an egg was?
Is she hunched over kind of walking funny?

Check to see if there is a hair or a piece of string that has gone around her tongue, and if she might have swallowed it. A fractured beak might be another possibility. If you can’t figure out what is wrong, I would try a vet or animal ER if possible. Sorry about your hen, and I hope you can figure out what is going on.

How would we treat a fractured beak? We don’t have a local vet that deals with chickens. The closest one would be Dr. Pol (yes the one on TV)
