I’m pretty stumped on my 4 yr old Hen and need some help!
she was fine one day and then we came home and she couldn’t hold her head up.
It also seems to curl under herself.
It wouldnt be a pecking injury from another chicken either.
We took her to the vet and they are unsure what’s going on either.
They didn’t think it was Mareks, she has no neurological issues or other spinal issues happening and if I tilt her at an angle she can eat on her own.
She can also walk on her own.
She does have what seems to be a tough doughy ball in her crop additional to the head droop.
So far the vet is treating her with antibiotics, pain medication, laxative and a digestive enzyme.
I can her a super boost of vitamins yesterday as well.
My worry is contagion to other flock members and if this curable.
Any advice would help thanks as I’ve never seen this in an adult hen before.
